In The Two Towers, Frodo and Sam journey on towards Mordor through desolate lands.
The rest of the Fellowship becomes involved in the larger events that are starting to take place in Middle-Earth. Sauron's
forces are massing for a huge war, the first skirmish of which will be the Battle at Helm's Deep. The help of the Rohirrim,
horse-loving humans, is desperately needed, but their king Theoden (Bernard Hill) is old and cursed with a wicked advisor (Brad Dourif). The king's nephew, Eomer (Karl Urban) and niece Eowyn (Miranda Otto) both have parts to play in the story. Meanwhile, the wizard Saruman's evil continues, though an unexpected force appears
to challenge him, led by the being known as Treebeard (voice of John Rhys-Davies). And Gollum fulfils Gandalf's prophecy of "having yet some part to play, for good or ill" in the story of the Ring. Release date: December 18, 2002
